Listening is a critical component to effective communication. This 1-hour training explores participants' listening habits and provides tools and techniques to help improve conversations in the workplace. Specifically, participants will learn about the four levels of communication and will explore the productive listening learning model to improve their personal listening habits.

This session will be live only and will not be recorded. Both LEAD sessions happening on 8/3/23 at 3 pm ET/12 pm PT and 6 pm ET/3 pm PT are the same session. Please only sign up for one 8/3/23 session. If the 6 pm ET/3 pm PT session works better for your schedule, please register here.

    Stefanie Giannini is the Director of Food & Nutrition Services at Marquardt School District 15 in Glendale Heights, IL. She earned her Bachelor's of Science in Food & Nutrition Management from Arizona State University. Through her 7 years of school nutrition experience, she found her passion for leadership development. In 2020, she earned her Master's in Organizational Leadership Development and Learning from George Washington University to fuel this passion. Additionally, she is ILSNA's President-Elect for 2023-2024 SY. When she isn't leading her own team of strong school nutrition leaders, she is educating other school nutrition professionals on leadership development through public speaking. She is best known for her Best of ANC 2019 session, "Self-Awareness: Knowing Yourself to Improve as a Leader"

  • Kathy Talley

    Kathy Talley is a proud West Virginia educator with a Master's degree in Vocational Home Economics. She has taught for 20 years in public schools and 20 years as the Nutrition Education and Training Coordinator of our West Virginia Department of Education. Kathy continues her teaching career as an adjunct faculty for several state universities, and enjoys working with the school nutrition personnel that are such a vital part of the school day, as well as going into the classroom and giving children the opportunity to learn about healthy eating through fun activities. Kathy is a Master Gardener and has worked in her home county in the elementary school Garden Based Learning program, introducing children to growing their food and then eating it in various recipes they help prepare. Kathy has one daughter, a son-in-law and two beautiful grandchildren. Her hobbies include gardening, weaving, and quilting.
